Web Hosting, Email Accounts, Domain Name Registration and Technical Support

Web hosting. Most small business web sites can be hosted for as little as $19.95 per Month. All plans include support time (for answering your calls, emails, questions, etc) throughout the year. We make regular backups of your web pages, images, and database (if applicable).

Email accounts We can provide you email account(s) @ your web site name. An email account can simply forward to another email account (a Forwarding account) or can be setup to be checked with it’s own username and password (aPOP account). Forwarding accounts require no additional setup on your part but when you reply to an email the person you write to sees the email address their message was forwarded to and not the email address they wrote to. POP accounts must be setup in your email program with a username and password. We can provide written directions on how to do this as well as an online graphical tutorial.

All web hosting plans include up to 100 email accounts.

Spam Email With spam messages now making up 90% plus of all email sent, many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are taking drastic measures to reduce unwanted emails. They block messages from any mail server who is not on their "white list", they bounce messages back or require you to complete a form online before delivering your message to one of their recipients. If you do receive a bounce back message please forward the entire email to us so the server technicians can take steps to get us on that ISPs white list.

We offer spam filtering on our mail server which can be set to a custom level that you determine (and even have access to change if you wish). The spam filter can do one of two things: 1) it can tag messages as spam by placing text like ***SPAM*** in the subject of the email messages it delivers to you if it has decided the message is spam or 2) it can simply NOT deliver the mail it has decided is spam to you at all.

People sending out spam messages have made email an unreliable means of communication because of all the blocking and spam filtering now in place on every mail server. If you have sent a message to somone and do not hear back within a day or two you might want to follow up with a phone call.

Domain name registration and renewal is $19.95 per year. Registering a domain name allows you to use that domain name as your web site address (you.com) and/or for email addresses. You MUST have registered a domain name to use it as an email address. We can manage your domain name if you wish, to make sure it is renewed automatically each year.

If you frequently have web site updates or additions (that you can not perform yourself using your content management system) we would be glad to make changes for you. If you do not have a content management system (CMS) please ask about adding one to your current site – you will be able to update text, pictures, links and more.

We offer free web site statistics that will tell you how many unique visitors have stopped by, how many pages each visitor viewed, what they used as search words to find your site and more.

* What is Bandwidth? Also called data transfer as it involves the transfer of files (data) across the internet. The file that lives on the hosting server transfers a copy of the file to a visitor's web browser. If you have a 1 MB file on your site that 100 people view that uses 100 MB of bandwidth. Most image files are no more than .25 MB or less and the actual web page files are much smaller than that. Bandwidth usage is calculated on a monthly basis and resets on the 1st of each month.

** What is SSL? SSL is short for Secure Socket Layer and allows the use of encrypted pages to pass important information such as credit card numbers securely.

We provide web hosting on a secure and stable Linux operating system (not Windows). Our most popular web hosting plans are listed above but if you need something different please contact us for a quote.

Things we can help you with:

Problems with your web site. If you find an error at any time simply get in touch and it will be fixed immediately at no charge.

Specific problems with email. If you have sent an email and had it not delivered, sent an email and it bounced back etc, please forward the bounce message to us and make sure it shows the date and time sent, who it was sent to and the email account used to send it. This will allow our technicians to look at the server log files and track the email message and/or see why it was not delivered.

Help with your content management system. If you have questions about how to use your CMS please call or email. For non-emergencies, email is the best method of communication. Support messages are checked continuously throughout the day.
